PowerX Technology Ltd has released a new white paper detailing significant issues with telemetry data integrity in telecom tower operations. The report, based on an assessment of hundreds of live tower sites, found that 80% of sites recorded telemetry readings above expected operating ranges, and 70% exhibited erratic or inconsistent fuel sensor profiles.
These data discrepancies mean that operators are often making critical decisions based on incomplete or misleading information. The analysis, which processed nearly 20 million time-series records over a six-month period, suggests the problem lies with the quality of the tools and data systems rather than the competence of the operational teams.
The report emphasizes that addressing data integrity is crucial before implementing AI strategies. PowerX's platform aims to standardize telemetry and ensure data accuracy, enabling substantial operational and financial improvements that can be realized by fixing the data layer itself. This includes identifying unaccounted fuel and flagging misconfigured systems.
