Practo Denies Talks to Acquire Healthtech Startup HealthPlix

Healthtech startup HealthPlix has refuted claims that it is in acquisition discussions with Practo. Earlier reports suggested that Practo was in the process of acquiring HealthPlix for an estimated $25 million to $30 million.

Sandeep Gudibanda, co-founder of HealthPlix, clarified that the startup is not engaged in any acquisition talks. He emphasized that HealthPlix is an independent, growing company focused on expansion, including a significant push into the USA market. The company's financial position is described as strong, with current cash reserves at approximately 50% of its last funding round.

HealthPlix provides Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and clinical workflow solutions for doctors. The company last raised $22 million in a Series C funding round in 2023. In 2024, HealthPlix underwent a restructuring that included laying off about 100 employees, or 25% of its workforce.

Practo, which operates a broad digital healthcare platform, reportedly sought to integrate HealthPlix's offerings to bolster its enterprise healthcare software business. Practo is also reportedly preparing for a pre-IPO funding round of approximately $120 million.
