Premier Inn Germany Achieves Profitability
Hotel group Whitbread reports that its German operations, under the Premier Inn brand, have become profitable. 18 hotels operating for over a year have reached profitability.
British hotel group Whitbread announced that its German Premier Inn hotels have achieved profitability. The company stated that 18 hotels, operating for more than a year, are now contributing positively to earnings.
According to the report covering the first half of the 2022/23 financial year (March to August 2022), the German business saw significant growth. During the second quarter, these established hotels achieved an average occupancy rate of 79 percent. CEO Alison Brittain expressed confidence in the potential of the German market.
Overall, Whitbread reported strong financial results for the period. In the UK, Premier Inn hotels saw total revenue double compared to the previous year and exceed pre-pandemic levels by 35 percent.
Brittain thanked the team members in both Germany and the UK for their dedication and continued commitment.
