Premier Inn secures lease for former Star Inn property in Hannover
Premier Inn has taken over the lease of a 179-room hotel near Hannover's main railway station from Bavaria Investments, marking its entry into the local market.
Premier Inn officially assumed the lease for the hotel property at Hamburger Allee 65 on February 15, 2021. The site, formerly operated as the Star Inn, includes 179 guest rooms and 51 parking spaces. This acquisition marks the hotel chain's debut in Hannover, with two additional properties already in the early development phase in the city.
The hotel is currently closed due to pandemic-related restrictions. The company intends to reopen the facility as the Premier Inn Hannover City University once local regulations permit. Management has expressed an intention to retain the existing staff at the location.
This addition expands the company's German portfolio to 69 hotels. According to Senior Development Manager Mathias Schotten, the company views Hannover as a key strategic location due to its established status as a hub for trade fairs, conferences, and tourism. Bavaria Investments representatives noted that the transition to the new tenant secures the property's future operation in a central urban location.
