Premier Inn to Develop Hotels in Berlin and Potsdam with COSIMO Investment Group
Hotel chain Premier Inn is developing two new hotel projects in the Berlin metropolitan area in partnership with COSIMO Investment Group. The new locations are in Berlin's Köpenick district and in Potsdam.
Premier Inn, the UK-based hotel group, is expanding its presence in the German capital region with two new hotel developments in Berlin's Köpenick district and in Potsdam. Both projects are being developed in collaboration with real estate developer COSIMO Investment Group.
The Köpenick project will feature a hotel with 157 rooms, built by COSIMO Investment Group on a 2,674 square meter site acquired by Premier Inn. The building will have a gross floor area of approximately 5,300 square meters and is scheduled to open in 2027 at Wendenschloßstraße 142.
In Potsdam, Premier Inn will open its first hotel in the city. Located near Potsdam's main train station at Babelsberger Straße 30-32, this hotel will comprise 208 rooms and an underground parking garage with 82 spaces. Developed in partnership with COSIMO Investment Group, the project will also include serviced apartments and is planned for a 2027 opening. The building's gross floor area is approximately 7,400 square meters.
Chris-Norman Sauer, Acquisitions Director at Premier Inn, highlighted the opportunity to create attractive hotel offerings in the thriving metropolitan region. He noted that the current challenging environment for project developers necessitates strong partners, and Premier Inn's investment in Germany since 2016, totaling over £1.1 billion, positions it as a significant player.
