Premier Inn to Open Hotel in Kassel
Hotel chain Premier Inn is expanding its presence in Germany by opening a new hotel in the central German city of Kassel. The hotel will be located within the Kurfürsten Galerie mixed-use complex.

Hotel chain Premier Inn has announced plans to open a new hotel in Kassel, Germany, as part of its ongoing expansion. The new location will be situated within the Kurfürsten Galerie, a mixed-use property in the city center that combines retail, dining, offices, residential units, and a casino.
The property, originally opened in 1991 and owned by DEMIRE Deutsche Mittelstand Real Estate AG, will undergo a comprehensive renovation and technical upgrade. The hotel portion of the Kurfürsten Galerie spans nearly 9,000 square meters. The number of hotel rooms will increase from 128 to 165 following the refurbishment, as former conference areas are converted to guest rooms.
Building permits for the renovation are expected to be filed later this year. Hotel guests will benefit from access to the city's largest underground parking garage, operated by Apcoa, which offers 734 parking spaces. The Kurfürsten Galerie complex itself comprises approximately 20,000 square meters and includes around 40 retail stores and restaurants.
Kassel, a UNESCO World Heritage city, offers attractions such as Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe and the Documenta art exhibition, making it an attractive tourist destination. Premier Inn sees significant potential in Kassel, citing its cultural appeal and economic strength, particularly with the rise of domestic tourism. The company currently operates 42 hotels in Germany and aims to reach a total of 400 locations.
