Presage Technologies Receives FDA Clearance for Contactless Vital Signs Monitoring
Presage Technologies announced it has received FDA clearance for its SmartSpectra Vital Signs Monitor SDK. The technology uses a camera to measure heart and breathing rates without physical contact.

Presage Technologies has obtained clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its SmartSpectra Vital Signs Monitor 1.0 SDK. This platform enables the measurement of heart rate and breathing rate using camera technology, without requiring direct physical contact with the patient.
The company is making the software development kit (SDK) available at no cost to hospitals, clinics, health organizations, and educators. This initiative aims to broaden access to contactless vital signs monitoring technology in healthcare and educational settings.
The SmartSpectra system allows healthcare providers to quickly obtain physiological data. Without the need for physical interaction, the technology could potentially enhance patient safety and reduce the risk of infection transmission, particularly in clinical environments.
Presage Technologies suggests the platform may also support remote patient monitoring and applications within educational contexts. Further development is planned to potentially expand the system's capabilities to include additional vital signs.
