Primary School Hosts African Theme Week
Students at Comenius Primary School built an African hut and learned about life and challenges on the continent during a project week.

Comenius Primary School held an African theme week aimed at familiarizing students with life, beauty, and problems on the continent. A particular experience for the 3a class was constructing an African "rundhütte" (round hut) in the school garden over nearly three weeks.
The initiative also sought to make Africa's significant issues transparent to children and motivate them to help through donations. One focus was the "Schwarz-Weiß" project by the Dürr family in Kenya, which established a children's village and provides vocational training for young people.
Teacher Reinhard Schwarz expressed a hope for partnerships with schools in Kenya, similar to existing European school partnerships. The project aims to educate and foster a willingness to assist people in Africa facing challenges, according to project organizers.
