Prime Video Releases Blade Runner 2099 Full Trailer at NYCC

Prime Video unveiled the full trailer for its new science fiction series, Blade Runner 2099, during New York Comic Con this past weekend. The event featured stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, alongside showrunner Silka Luisa.

Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the series depicts a future where the replicant uprising hinted at in previous films has occurred, resulting in human defeat. "The creations have surpassed their creators," stated showrunner Silka Luisa during the panel.

Blade Runner 2099 explores the existential question of what happens when humanity's time as the dominant species ends and a new one rises. The series examines whether humans can maintain their humanity as their own era concludes.

Michelle Yeoh stars as Olwen, a dying replicant, and Hunter Schafer plays Cora. The cast also includes Hugo Hamlet, Dmitri Abold, and Katelyn Rose Downey in undisclosed roles. The series is set to premiere in approximately six weeks.
