A private business jet crashed near Cresthaven, Florida, on Friday, November 1, following a rapid descent. The aircraft, identified as a Learjet 60, was en route from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas when it went down around 12:50 p.m. local time.

Flight data indicates the aircraft plummeted nearly 31,000 feet (approx. 9,450 meters) in less than one minute. Video footage captured the jet descending sharply before exploding upon impact near a major roadway, triggering a massive fire. Emergency crews were dispatched to the site, and local authorities closed nearby roads to manage the scene.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Duffy confirmed that all nine individuals on board perished. There have been no reports of casualties among people on the ground at this time.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Investigators are currently reviewing flight data and debris to determine why the aircraft descended so rapidly.
