Proalpha Acquires Spanish MES Software Provider Mapex

Proalpha Group, a provider of ERP and business applications for the midmarket, has entered into an agreement to acquire Mapex Manufacturing Software Solutions S.L.U. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Mapex specializes in AI-powered Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), known for their flexible and modular design. The acquisition is expected to integrate Mapex's platform into Proalpha's Digital Shop Floor and ERP solutions, while Mapex will also continue to be offered as a standalone product compatible with third-party systems.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Barcelona, Mapex employs around 100 people and serves over 50,000 users globally. Its MES solution is utilized by over 500 factories across various industries, including automotive, aerospace, plastics, packaging, metal processing, and food & beverage.

The acquisition provides Proalpha with direct access to the Spanish market and strengthens its position in manufacturing execution systems. The company views the integration as a key step in its international expansion and its strategy to offer advanced, specialized software solutions for the manufacturing sector.
