Proalpha Integrates AI into ERP Systems for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

Munich – Proalpha Group has developed more than 20 new artificial intelligence (AI) use cases to be integrated into its enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The initiative aims to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in making data-driven and predictive business decisions.

Gunnar Schug, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) at Proalpha, stated that AI is crucial for SMEs, many of whom face challenges in adopting the technology. Proalpha's approach focuses on providing specific use cases that demonstrate AI's capability in data analysis, making adoption more accessible for its clients.

Several of the developed use cases concentrate on optimizing replenishment times and demand forecasting. For replenishment optimization, the system analyzes historical order and delivery data to identify patterns and generate forecasts. This assists companies in determining optimal reordering times for thousands of parts, factoring in uncertainties within the supply chain, a task that is complex for manual execution.

The demand forecasting capabilities are designed to help businesses improve inventory management, avoid overstocking, and better control capital tied up in inventory and associated storage costs. Proalpha reports that these solutions are seamlessly integrated into their ERP systems, supporting both operational and strategic decisions. The company plans to extend AI applications to manufacturing execution systems (MES) and other specialized solutions within the group.

Proalpha aims to foster an integrated, data-driven decision-making culture among its customers. Schug explained that Proalpha AI acts as an intelligent data warehouse and integration hub, leveraging expertise from both the ERP system and the group's specialized subsidiaries. This integration supports companies in holistic and predictive business management.
