The situation culminated on February 25, 2026, when PROCEPT disclosed that U.S. handpiece unit sales had exceeded procedures since Q1 2023, resulting in over 10,000 excess units in field inventory. Subsequent revelations about the company's undisclosed discount program led to a significant decline in PROCEPT's stock price.
