Procept BioRobotics Faces Securities Law Violation Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Procept BioRobotics Corporation, accusing the company and its executives of violating securities laws. The law firm Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP announced the suit, which pertains to investments made in Procept stock between February 28, 2024, and February 25, 2026.

The lawsuit alleges that Procept implemented a discount program encouraging customers to place large orders exceeding their actual procedural demand. This practice, which was not disclosed to investors, allegedly inflated the company's U.S. sales figures and created significant inventory surplus among its customer base. The suit claims these actions resulted in over 10,000 excess handpiece units by early 2026.

Investors who experienced substantial losses during the specified period have until September 22, 2026, to seek appointment as lead plaintiff in the case. The litigation is being handled in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Procept BioRobotics, a medical technology company specializing in surgical devices for benign prostatic hyperplasia, issued an earnings report in August 2025 that lowered sales forecasts. Following this, the company's stock price dropped approximately 16% over a two-day trading period. Statements from company leadership and actions, such as eliminating the Chief Commercial Officer role, have indicated the company's commercial challenges.
