Protesters Demand Corporations Defend Voting Rights
A coalition is pressuring major companies like Amazon and Target to defend democratic elections ahead of U.S. midterm elections. Actions began early October.

A coalition known as May Day Strong has launched a campaign urging corporations, particularly those with ties to former President Donald Trump such as Amazon, JP Morgan Chase, Target, and Palantir, to defend voting rights ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
The group, comprised of labor and community organizers, is staging a series of protests and actions across the United States from October 3 to October 11. The objective is to pressure these companies to utilize their influence to advocate for free and democratic elections.
The campaign targets companies that profit significantly from their workforce and communities, calling on them to oppose efforts that restrict voting access. The organizers request that corporations inform their employees about voting rights, publicly condemn measures that disenfranchise voters, and reject attempts to halt vote counts or election certifications.
Protests and campaign events are planned in various cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Chicago, Tucson, San Francisco, and Culver City. A wide range of unions and advocacy groups are participating in these efforts to hold corporations accountable for supporting the democratic process.
