Provimedia's Code Guardian 17.9 Enhances Command Monitoring
Provimedia GmbH's latest software update, Code Guardian 17.9, improves command detection and closes previously overlooked loopholes. The update focuses on enhanced monitoring of scripts and remote commands.

Provimedia GmbH has released version 17.9 of its Code Guardian software, significantly enhancing its ability to detect and monitor commands. This update introduces changes to how the software handles commands embedded within redirections, command shells, and remote execution.
A key improvement is that Code Guardian 17.9 and its predecessor, 17.8, can now recognize commands that were previously missed. This includes scripts hidden behind redirections, commands nested within multiple shell layers, or remote commands sent via SSH. As a result, commands that previously passed through undetected can now be intercepted and processed.
The new versions also feature enhancements to the 'token check,' which assesses the context utilization by AI models like Claude Code and Codex. Additionally, the 'Council' feature now retains its judgments for 24 hours, improving system consistency and traceability.
Users are advised to review their settings, particularly concerning the token check. If the software identifies potential optimizations in AI context usage, it will prompt the user for approval before implementing changes. Individual commands that previously went unnoticed will now be halted or require further input, thereby increasing the system's overall security.
