Provision Labs acquires hardware startup Basilisk Industries
Provision Labs, the physical AI venture founded by Anjali Sardana, has acquired Mumbai-based Basilisk Industries to bolster its robotics and perception hardware capabilities.

Provision Labs has completed the acquisition of Basilisk Industries, a hardware startup specializing in perception technologies. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. As part of the acquisition, Basilisk founder Shourya Watwani will join the Provision Labs leadership team to oversee hardware development and post-processing model integration.
Basilisk Industries, established in 2023, previously focused on machine perception technology. According to Provision Labs CEO Anjali Sardana, the acquired team has already integrated a 3D hand-tracking model and developed a lightweight tactile glove designed to capture haptic data. These assets are intended to support Provision’s broader mission of collecting data for training physical AI systems.
Provision Labs is currently scaling its technical operations, with active recruitment in San Francisco, Toronto, and Bengaluru. The company is seeking specialists in computer vision, tactile data, and environment reconstruction to support its infrastructure development.
The acquisition follows recent industry scrutiny regarding data collection practices at Sardana’s other venture, Pronto. While Pronto faced questions regarding the privacy of in-home recording pilots, Provision Labs aims to position itself as a provider of training data for the robotics and physical AI sector, positioning it against other market participants in the automation and home service technology space.
