ProWood Product Named BobVila.com Tool of the Year
ProWood's 4x4 Deck Railing Post Pocket received a BobVila.com award in the DIY Essentials category for simplifying railing installation.
Grand Rapids, Michigan – ProWood, a manufacturer of building materials, has been recognized with the BobVila.com 2026 Tool of the Year award in the DIY Essentials category for its 4x4 Deck Railing Post Pocket.
The award, announced on September 25, 2026, acknowledged the product's ability to make code-compliant railing installation faster and easier. The company was selected from nearly 400 entries considered for the annual awards.
The 4x4 Deck Railing Post Pocket anchors wood railing posts directly to the deck joists. It is engineered to meet code requirements for 36- and 42-inch deck railings and installs as a single, all-in-one kit without requiring extra hardware runs.
"Getting the post connection right is one of the trickiest parts of a deck build," said Luke Snyder, product manager at ProWood. "This product is designed to take the guesswork out of that process, providing builders and DIYers with hardware that installs fast and holds up."
