P.T. horror game receives PC port

Hideo Kojima's cult classic "playable trailer," P.T., has been made available on PC through a new porting tool. Previously, the only way to play the discontinued demo for the canceled Silent Hills project was on a PlayStation 4 that had it downloaded during its limited availability window.

Coder Lorean Xavier developed the tool, stating his motivation was that P.T. "deserved to keep existing somewhere other than on consoles that still have it installed." The open-source project rebuilds the game's engine in C++ and Vulkan, utilizing original PS4 files to recreate all game assets. Users are required to possess a legitimate, decrypted copy of the original P.T. to generate the PC version.

This reliance on authentic P.T. files makes the port more faithful than previous fan recreations. The native PC port also includes additional features such as upscaling, frame generation, a camera mode, experimental VR and third-person support, and an in-game "museum" for exploring assets and unused content.
