Publicis Groupe Expands Support for Workers With Cancer
Publicis Groupe has advanced its "Working With Cancer" initiative, introducing an AI coach to help companies support employees diagnosed with cancer. New research highlights the benefits of continued employment during treatment.

Publicis Groupe announced on April 4, 2026, an expansion of its "Working With Cancer" (WWC) initiative, aiming to foster supportive work environments for employees undergoing cancer treatment. The update includes a new AI-powered coach designed to assist companies in providing personalized support to affected employees.
The initiative is informed by recent research from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Mayo Clinic. This research reinforces the link between sustained employment or returning to work and an improved health-related quality of life for cancer patients. Findings indicate that employed cancer survivors report approximately 28% better overall quality of life and significantly lower rates of depressive and anxiety symptoms compared to unemployed individuals.
The AI coach, available to companies that sign the WWC pledge, will help organizations tailor their health, benefits, and workplace policies to individual employee needs. Built on Large Language Models and incorporating safeguards, it draws from vetted resources to provide guidance without offering medical diagnoses. Companies can securely upload their own policies for customized advice.
Alongside the AI tool, WWC is launching a global campaign to encourage more businesses to join the pledge. Supported by significant pro bono media contributions, the campaign emphasizes the role employers can play in supporting recovery and dignity. To date, the "Working With Cancer" movement has committed over 5,000 companies and protects more than 40 million workers worldwide.
