Paris – Publicis Groupe today announced its financial results for the full year 2016, reporting an increase in key financial metrics including revenue, operating margin, headline diluted EPS, and dividend payout. The company highlighted the strength of its business model amidst a transforming environment.

The group experienced modest organic growth, which was attributed to lower U.S. revenues resulting from client losses in 2015 and early 2016, as well as challenges faced by its digital agency Razorfish. In response, Publicis Groupe merged Razorfish with SapientNitro to create a new entity focused on consumer experience, a move that led to an impairment charge in the 2016 accounts.

Throughout 2016, Publicis Groupe focused on implementing its new organizational structure and transforming into a "connecting company" through its "The Power of One" strategy. The company reported significant client wins and successes in the latter half of the year, attributing these achievements to the new integrated approach.

Looking ahead, Publicis Groupe views 2017 as the start of a new era marked by rapid technological and societal shifts. The company stated its readiness to assist clients in their transformations and leverage its digital capabilities. Furthermore, Chairman and CEO Maurice Lévy announced his upcoming transition to Chairman of the Supervisory Board, with Arthur Sadoun set to succeed him as CEO on June 1.

The company also reported a strong free cash flow generation and debt reduction. Publicis Groupe plans to propose a 16% increase in its dividend to 1.85 euros per share at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
