Publicis Sapient Acquires Full Stake in Publicis Sapient AI Labs

Publicis Groupe announced on May 23, 2023, its acquisition of the full stake in Publicis Sapient AI Labs. This move enhances Publicis Sapient, the digital business transformation arm of Publicis Groupe, by strengthening its data and artificial intelligence capabilities.

The Publicis Sapient AI Labs was initially established in 2020 as a joint venture involving Publicis Sapient, Elder Research, and Tquila, focusing on AI research and development. It will now be fully integrated into Publicis Sapient. The acquisition deepens the company's expertise in data science and AI, enabling the development of new solutions across various industries, including generative AI and natural language processing.

By combining Publicis Sapient's over 30 years of global delivery experience with Elder Research's 28 years of expertise in data science and AI, the company aims to help large enterprises leverage advanced analytics solutions. Publicis Sapient will offer clients services ranging from developing data strategies and building prototypes to providing training programs focused on areas like prompt engineering and large language models (LLMs).

"The acquisition of our AI joint venture reinforces our continued investment in innovation and our commitment to staying ahead of the AI curve," stated Arthur Sadoun, Chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe. Nigel Vaz, CEO of Publicis Sapient, added that the deal will accelerate their generative AI offerings and play a critical role in helping clients solve complex business problems with data and AI.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
