Puncture Robotic Unveils AI-Powered Hair Transplant Robot
Puncture Robotic showcased its HAIRO hair transplant robot and its AI-driven approach to hair restoration at the WCHR 2026 congress in Seoul.

Seoul, South Korea – Puncture Robotic, a Chinese medical device manufacturer, unveiled its latest AI-powered hair transplant robot, HAIRO, at the 14th World Congress for Hair Research (WCHR 2026). The device reportedly integrates artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotics throughout the hair restoration workflow.
HAIRO is China's first NMPA Class III-certified hair transplant robot. Its AI system is said to assist in assessing a patient's degree of hair loss and generating personalized simulations of potential outcomes. The robot also supports physicians with surgical planning and execution.
The system is stated to be capable of extracting up to 2,400 follicles per hour with a positioning accuracy of 0.1 millimeters. According to the company, HAIRO's "Single-Hair Skipping" algorithm identifies and prioritizes follicular units containing multiple hairs, aiming to enhance visual density while reducing the number of grafts needed from the donor area.
Dr. Guanzhou Zhu of Taiwan's DCDC Hair Transplant Hospital commented that the system's speed, stability, and ability to operate with ultra-fine needles demonstrate its potential as an effective clinical partner for surgeons. Puncture Robotic recently secured a multi-million dollar Series B financing round and is now focused on international expansion and pursuing FDA and CE certifications.
