Qantas reveals cabin design for Project Sunrise A350-1000ULR

Qantas has revealed the next evolution in cabin design for its highly anticipated Project Sunrise aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000ULR. Set to launch from October 2027, Project Sunrise will introduce non-stop services between Sydney and London, redefining ultra long-haul travel.

The Qantas A350-1000ULR has been configured with just 238 seats, the lowest seat density of any A350 globally. This configuration aims to provide more space for every passenger, making long-distance flying more comfortable and restorative.

Details of the cabin experience have been developed through more than a decade of research with the University of Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre. This has informed the design of an onboard experience centered around rest, wellbeing, and comfort, influencing everything from seating and lighting to dining and dedicated movement areas.

Features include enclosed First suites with flat beds and adjustable lighting, Business suites with sliding doors, and reimagined Premium Economy seats with ergonomic leg rests. The Economy cabin will offer more generous seat pitch and a choice of additional legroom with Economy Plus.

The airline stated that over 70 percent of seats on board will offer a pitch of 33 inches or more, marking the most generous seating layout of any Qantas aircraft.
