Qiyuan T1 robot receives software update for stair navigation

Qiyuan is rolling out the first major over-the-air update for its T1 personal robot, introducing automatic stair climbing and remote communication features.

5 November 2026

Qiyuan announced that its T1 robot will receive a significant software update starting tomorrow. The primary addition is a new capability that allows the robot to identify stairs and automatically switch its physical configuration between a wheeled stance and a four-legged mode to navigate them.

Beyond mobility improvements, the update introduces remote audio and video calling features, allowing users to interact with their household via the robot's camera and microphone while away. Other technical enhancements include integration with the HiEcho platform for language learning, improved biometric matching for facial and voice recognition, and new AI-driven image processing tools.

Launched in September, the T1 is marketed as a personal robot capable of physical transformation to adapt to different environments. Standing roughly 100 centimeters tall and weighing 16 kilograms, the device is designed for autonomous movement within homes. This update reflects the company's focus on refining the T1's utility through iterative software improvements.
