Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Extreme Chips

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, now joined by the 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Both chips are positioned as flagship processors, with differences largely centered on the Extreme model's improved AI processing, video capture, and gaming performance.

Built on a 2nm process, both Gen 6 chips share common specifications, including their modems, display technologies, security features, GPS, and memory and storage support. While Qualcomm no longer provides detailed core breakdowns, the CPU specifications are identical, featuring two large cores operating at up to 5GHz and six performance cores.

The primary enhancement in the Extreme variant is its artificial intelligence processing power, designed to handle more complex tasks and improve in-app user experiences. Video capture capabilities and gaming graphics performance have also been optimized in the Gen 6 Extreme chip, aiming to deliver a smoother and more detailed mobile gaming experience.

Qualcomm continues its focus on advancing mobile technology, with the new Snapdragon chips setting a benchmark for smartphone performance and features in the upcoming year, aiming to provide consumers with more powerful and versatile devices.
