Qualcomm to demo 6G terminal prototype at CIIE
Qualcomm will showcase its 6G terminal prototype for the first time globally at the upcoming ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
Qualcomm confirmed it will exhibit a 6G terminal prototype at the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE). The device represents a move toward the practical application of next-generation mobile connectivity, following previous testing phases.
The prototype has been used in collaborative 6G interoperability trials involving China Mobile and ZTE. This exhibition follows a joint announcement in September 2024, where the companies completed the first 6G prototype base station and terminal test based on the 3GPP-defined U6G frequency band.
Beyond 6G infrastructure, Qualcomm’s booth will feature an array of consumer hardware, including AI PCs, smart glasses, robotics, and automotive technology. These exhibits highlight the company’s ongoing focus on integrating artificial intelligence across a broader range of hardware ecosystems.
The CIIE participation marks Qualcomm’s ninth consecutive year at the event, underscoring the company’s commitment to the Chinese market as it attempts to shape the early development of global 6G standards.
