Quanfluence Raises $10 Million for Full-Stack Photonic Quantum Computer Development

Indian quantum computing startup Quanfluence has raised $10 million (approximately ₹92 Cr) in a funding round led by Chiratae Ventures, with participation from Rainmatter by Zerodha and existing backer Pi Ventures.

Quanfluence intends to deploy the new capital to further develop its full-stack photonic quantum computing system. This involves integrating indigenously designed photonic chips, control electronics, and software into a single architecture. The company aims to deliver early processors by 2027 and more scalable quantum machines by 2029.

The startup, founded in 2021, has already commercialized its optical Ising machine, which uses light waves as computational units. This system can process hundreds of interconnected variables simultaneously, reportedly making it up to 100 times faster than traditional optimization methods. Quanfluence has sold approximately three physical machines and offers remote access on a usage-based model.

The funding comes as investors increasingly explore deeptech bets with potential for commercial and industrial applications. Quantum computing remains largely experimental, with the industry yet to achieve the scale required for widespread commercial workloads. Quanfluence's photonics-led approach aims to address this challenge, betting its architecture can eventually scale from prototype to systems with millions of qubits.
