Quanta Computer and Quantinuum to Co-Develop Next-Generation Quantum Computer Hardware

Taiwanese hardware manufacturer Quanta Computer has announced a collaboration with Quantinuum, a quantum computing company owned by Honeywell. The partnership will focus on the joint development of hardware for next-generation quantum computers.
The companies will explore modular and scalable quantum computing systems. Key areas of focus will be industrial equipment and hardware ecosystems, aiming to transition increasingly complex quantum processors into truly deployable systems.
Currently, quantum processors require intricate support infrastructure, including lasers, vacuum systems, control electronics, and cooling. Scaling these systems while maintaining accuracy presents significant engineering challenges.
Quanta's established manufacturing capabilities are expected to assist Quantinuum in exploring the industrialization and potential mass production of quantum computers. Engineers from both firms are reportedly already working on next-generation hardware infrastructure.
