Quantum Photonics Congress to be Held in Erfurt in May 2026

Messe Erfurt will host the Quantum Photonics congress and trade exhibition on May 5-6, 2026. This event, now in its second iteration, aims to highlight the close connection between quantum and photonics technologies, covering research, development, and applications.

The core of the event is an English-language conference divided into four thematic forums: Quantum in Computing & AI, Quantum for Cyber Security & Networks, Quantum for Defence & Space, and Quantum for Instrumentation and Measurement. The congress seeks to foster exchange between scientific findings and practical industrial applications.

Discussions will explore how quantum technology can enhance artificial intelligence by solving complex problems beyond the reach of classical supercomputers. The event will also address the need for quantum-resistant security measures, such as post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution, to protect communications in the future.

Furthermore, the congress will delve into the significance of quantum communication for defense and space sectors, alongside the potential of quantum technology to advance precision measurement and imaging techniques, potentially leading to breakthroughs in fields like medicine and environmental monitoring.
