The film 'Raaka', starring icon Allu Arjun and directed by V. Arunkumar (Atlee), has officially earned a Guinness World Record for "Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time." The record was set with 37 performers being captured simultaneously during a single session.
The achievement was certified on September 15, 2026. To accomplish the feat, the film's VFX Producer developed a new motion-capture pipeline and workflow tailored to 'Raaka's scale and technical requirements. The record attempt utilized 92 optical motion-capture cameras within an advanced ecosystem integrating capture, calibration, networking, synchronization, and real-time visualization.
The landmark motion capture session included performers ranging from a 4-year-old child to a 70-year-old. Producer Sun Pictures highlighted that the achievement brings together the studio's ambition, Atlee's vision, Allu Arjun's commitment to performance boundaries, and the technical expertise of Apple Art Studio.
"We are extremely proud of this remarkable achievement, which pushes the boundaries of cinema and sets a new benchmark on a global scale," stated Allu Arjun. Director Atlee added that Guinness World Records were always viewed with wonder in his childhood, never imagining he would achieve one.
'Raaka's' motion capture success marks a significant moment for Indian cinema on the global stage, showcasing its growing ambition and technical capabilities.
