Rachel Burke Appointed Executive Director of Global Animal Partnership
Rachel Burke has been appointed the new executive director of Global Animal Partnership (G.A.P.), a farm animal welfare standards organization. She brings over 17 years of experience in animal welfare and responsible sourcing.
Global Animal Partnership (G.A.P.), a leading farm animal welfare standards organization, has named Rachel Burke as its new executive director. Burke officially assumed the role on September 30, 2026.
Burke brings nearly two decades of experience in animal welfare, standards development, and sustainability to G.A.P. Her background includes work in farm operations, third-party certification, and managing responsible sourcing across global food supply chains.
"Rachel brings an exceptional combination of knowledge and perspective to G.A.P., and she understands the realities facing farmers and ranchers," said Cameron Krebs, chair of G.A.P.'s board of directors. Previously, Burke held a role at Starbucks focused on animal welfare and sustainable dairy, and before that, she directed certification services for EarthClaims, LLC.
In her new capacity, Burke will oversee G.A.P.'s strategic direction and operations. She aims to expand the organization's reach and ensure the continued rigor of its welfare standards and third-party certification programs. Burke also plans to increase consumer awareness of G.A.P.'s impact on farm animals.
