Rachika Nayar's latest release, "Heaven Come Crashing", adds a new dimension to the artist's instrumental production by blending lengthy, atmospheric pieces with surprising and powerful drum beats.
The title track features a dramatic, massive drum and bass drop, a notable departure from Nayar's debut album, "Our Hands Against The Dusk", which was almost entirely devoid of percussion. While "Heaven Come Crashing" remains largely drum-free, subtle percussive elements appear on tracks like "Tetramorph" and "Gayatri".
The album's seventh track delivers an unexpected rhythmic explosion before immediately retreating to the soothing wash of "Sleepless". This dynamic shift creates tension and depth within the work, which explores themes of desperate longing.
