RaidSonic adopts gallium nitride technology for power supply units
RaidSonic Technology GmbH is shifting to gallium nitride (GaN) components to enhance power efficiency and reduce the form factor of its charging hardware.

RaidSonic Technology GmbH has integrated gallium nitride (GaN) technology into its latest line of power supply units. The transition from traditional silicon-based components to GaN allows for improved heat dissipation and higher power efficiency, which the company claims can reduce energy waste during the charging process by as much as 20 percent.
The company’s IB-PS104-PD charger utilizes this technology to provide up to 100 watts of power via Power Delivery 3.0. By utilizing the faster electron mobility of GaN chips, the device can accommodate four ports within a more compact frame, targeting users who require mobile charging solutions for high-performance laptops and mobile devices.
Industry analysts at TrendForce project that GaN-based chargers will constitute over 50 percent of new production by 2025. RaidSonic’s strategic pivot reflects a broader industry movement aimed at overcoming the limitations of silicon power supplies to meet growing demands for efficiency and portability.
