Rakuten Symphony adds agentic AI to telecom site software

Tokyo-based telecom software firm Rakuten Symphony has released Rakuten Site Management 3.0, an infrastructure lifecycle platform. The updated software incorporates agentic AI to detect schedule conflicts, replan work, and manage tasks using natural-language prompts.

The release also introduces AI-powered dashboards and preview features for autonomous orchestration, along with integration for the Model Context Protocol server. This integration standardizes how AI agents connect to external tools, data sources, and services.

Rakuten Symphony states that the platform covers the entire lifecycle of telecom sites, including planning, permitting, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance. It has reportedly been deployed across more than 3.5 million telecom sites globally.

The company, a unit within the Rakuten Group focusing on telecom technology, has also announced plans with Rakuten Mobile to establish an Open RAN customer experience center in the UK.
