Ramsay Santé integrates virtual reality into rehabilitation protocols
Ramsay Santé is utilizing virtual reality technology at its Atlantique clinic to support post-operative rehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions.

Ramsay Santé has integrated virtual reality (VR) systems into its physical medicine and rehabilitation protocols at the Atlantique clinic. Over the past year, medical teams have employed the KineQuantum system to assist patients during their post-operative recovery, focusing on musculoskeletal health.
Dr. Cécile Visentin, who leads the implementation, reports that the VR environment acts as an immersive tool that helps mitigate kinesiophobia—the fear of movement—which often complicates recovery. During 20-minute sessions, patients perform guided movements in a virtual setting while under the direct supervision of an occupational therapist. This supervision ensures that the physical intensity and range of motion are adjusted specifically to the patient's functional needs.
The system provides real-time quantitative data on joint movement and velocity, allowing practitioners to track patient progress with precision. Clinical outcomes have been particularly promising for patients dealing with chronic neck pain, shoulder pathologies, and lower back pain.
While the technology has proven effective as a complementary tool, it remains contraindicated for patients with conditions such as epilepsy or specific psychiatric disorders. Future applications of the technology for home-based therapy are currently being studied.
