Ramseier Gruppe Selects New ERP System Amidst Economic Uncertainty
Ramseier Gruppe, a company specializing in the trade and manufacture of standard and special parts, has decided to select a new ERP system. The decision was made in May, despite what the company described as "difficult circumstances".

Ramseier Gruppe, an international company with 165 employees and eight locations specializing in the trade and manufacture of standard and special parts, has opted to select a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The decision was finalized in May, a time characterized by economic challenges, according to company statements. Owners and IT management indicated that the timing was considered opportune due to a perceived decrease in daily operational demands, allowing staff to dedicate more focus to the ERP project. "We were not as burdened with operational tasks, so we could take care of these matters," explained Günther Blessing, owner of Ramseier Gruppe. Hartmut Ruess, IT manager, added that the company had already spent nine months on the selection process, making a postponement seem illogical. The project was deemed economically sensible, and the company felt well-prepared. proALPHA was chosen as the ERP provider. The company cited proALPHA's ability to meet a significant portion of Ramseier's requirements, its user-friendly interface, and the competence of its representatives as key factors. The system's suitability for both Ramseier's manufacturing and trading divisions was a critical aspect of the decision. The main challenge identified was integrating the distinct processes of high-volume trading with complex manufacturing operations into a single, largely standard-compliant system. Ramseier anticipates that the new ERP system will enhance efficiency and position the company for future growth, although they remain cautious about forecasting economic recovery.
