Range Rover GT electric vehicle makes global debut
Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled the new Range Rover GT, the fourth model under the Range Rover brand. The vehicle is built on the new EMA platform and features a coupe-like design.
Jaguar Land Rover today (July 22) revealed the all-electric Range Rover GT, marking the fourth model in the Range Rover lineup. The new vehicle is underpinned by the entirely new EMA platform, which will also support hybrid variants in the future.
The Range Rover GT distinguishes itself with a first-time coupe-like silhouette for the brand. Its length is reportedly close to that of the Range Rover Sport, but its lower roofline enhances aerodynamics and reduces cabin noise, with Jaguar Land Rover calling it the "quietest Range Rover ever".
The vehicle is expected to be offered exclusively with dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrains. While the lower profile may reduce off-road capability, the manufacturer asserts the model's performance and durability will lead its class, even under extreme environmental conditions.
The interior continues a minimalist design philosophy, aimed at reducing distractions and fostering a serene atmosphere. Physical controls have been significantly reduced, with many functions now managed through large central touchscreens. The vehicle is positioned as a rival to electric luxury SUVs such as the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz EQC.
