Rare Beauty Donates Percentage of Sales to Mental Health Initiatives
Cosmetics brand Rare Beauty donates 1% of sales to its Rare Impact Fund, which supports youth mental health resources globally. The fund has reached millions of young people and aims to mobilize $100 million.

Cosmetics company Rare Beauty allocates 1% of its sales revenue to its nonprofit arm, the Rare Impact Fund, which focuses on expanding youth mental health resources. Founder Selena Gomez emphasized the brand's mission-driven approach.
The Rare Impact Fund has supported 30 partner organizations across five continents over the past five years, providing grants and training to educators. It has trained 208,000 educators and reached 3.5 million young people, with a goal to mobilize $100 million within a decade.
Speaking at the Fast Company Innovation Festival, Gomez stated that while Rare Beauty is a business, its core is a strong mission. She highlighted the $30 million raised and the reach of the company's efforts as key motivators.
Elyse Cohen, Chief Impact Officer at Rare Beauty, noted that customers connect with the brand not only for its products but also for its mission and the resources it provides. Product names are often inspired by empowering concepts.
As Rare Beauty expands globally, the Rare Impact Fund also grows. Cohen explained that the fund collaborates with local experts to ensure its initiatives are culturally relevant and support existing efforts in different regions, rather than imposing external expertise.
