Raynaud's Association Launches Interactive Map to Track Sufferers

In observance of Raynaud's Awareness Month this October, the Raynaud's Association has launched a campaign titled "The Cold War: Putting Raynaud's on the Map." The initiative encourages an estimated 15 to 30 million Americans living with Raynaud's to log their geographic location on a digital map. The goal is to gather data to prove the widespread nature of the vascular disorder and push for greater public health recognition.

Raynaud's disease causes extreme vascular spasms, typically in the fingers and toes, triggered by cold temperatures or stress. This leads to symptoms such as painful numbness, throbbing, and burning, along with color changes in the affected digits. Despite affecting up to 10% of the U.S. population, the condition remains largely unrepresented in public health data.

The newly launched interactive map is designed for easy participation, requiring individuals to confirm their condition and register their location. While optional details like a "Warrior code name," a brief personal story, or a photo can be added, the core requirement is location data to visually represent the scale of Raynaud's impact.

"For too long, Raynaud's has been dismissed as a minor inconvenience, leaving millions to fight this freezing battle in isolation," stated Lynn Wunderman, Chairman of the Raynaud's Association. "This year, we are shifting the emphasis from our quiz format to a real-time data map. By simply confirming their location, our community will provide visual proof to demonstrate that Raynaud's is a legitimate medical issue that deserves global attention, answers, and immediate action."

The Raynaud's Association invites all individuals experiencing symptoms of Raynaud's disease to visit www.RaynaudsMap.org to add their location to the map. The organization is a national non-profit dedicated to providing support and information to those affected by the condition.
