ReactOS adds NTFS installation support

ReactOS has officially introduced support for NTFS-based installations, marking a technical milestone in the operating system's development. Previously, the project required users to maintain a FAT32 partition for installation, creating a notable barrier for an OS aiming for binary compatibility with Windows Server 2003.

While the addition of NTFS support brings ReactOS closer to its goal of mimicking the Windows environment, the project team has advised caution. The current driver lacks essential features including caching, journaling, and full security implementation, which may impact system performance.

Project developers noted that the driver is still undergoing refinement and may contain unidentified bugs. Although this update simplifies the deployment process for users moving away from legacy constraints, the system remains in development and is not yet recommended for stable production use.
