RealCold Expands Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Logistics in Texas
RealCold has expanded its cold storage network in Texas to include pharmaceutical logistics, positioning the company among the state's top cold storage providers. The expansion is driven by growing demand for regulated, temperature-controlled capacity.

RealCold has broadened its cold storage capabilities in Texas to encompass pharmaceutical logistics, establishing itself as a significant player in the state's temperature-controlled supply chain sector. This strategic expansion addresses the increasing need for compliant, regulated storage solutions for sensitive pharmaceutical products.
The company's move into pharmaceutical logistics was bolstered by its acquisition of Dallas-based SCL Cold Chain earlier this year. SCL Cold Chain holds CEIV Pharma certification, a crucial credential for handling pharmaceutical goods. The integration combines RealCold's existing cold chain infrastructure with SCL's specialized expertise in pharmaceutical handling, offering a unified service for both food and drug clients.
Texas serves as a vital hub for cold chain operations due to its extensive transportation network, including major highways and port access, facilitating distribution across the U.S. Pharmaceutical companies require logistics partners capable of maintaining product integrity throughout transit. RealCold's enhanced offerings now include CEIV Pharma-certified handling, FDA-registered facilities, continuous temperature monitoring, and customs freight station capabilities.
RealCold's facilities, such as its Denton location, offer multiple temperature zones, including freezer (-18°C), refrigerator (2°C), and climate-controlled dry storage (13°C). The Lockhart facility functions as a large staging area for products moving through the region. The company emphasizes dedicated customer support, assigning each client a specific representative and tailoring onboarding processes to meet individual product handling requirements.
