Chinese technology company realme has announced a pause in new product launches within the Chinese market. This decision is intended to allow the company to concentrate resources on expanding its presence in international markets, with a specific focus on performance and gaming-centric smartphones.
As part of this strategic shift, OPPO, realme's parent company, will fully take over the sales, after-sales service, and warranty support for all existing realme models in China. This ensures continuity of service for current customers.
Looking ahead, realme devices will transition to OPPO's ColorOS operating system. When new versions of ColorOS are released, eligible realme users will be able to update their devices through an update notification. The company has stated that all user rights and services will be guaranteed.
This move is part of a broader strategic alignment within its parent company. Similar adjustments are being made to OnePlus's strategy, which will increase its focus on the Chinese market while scaling back new product releases in Europe and North America.
