Rebundle Brings Clean Beauty Standards to Synthetic Braiding Hair
Rebundle has launched as the first non-toxic braiding hair brand on Ulta.com, elevating scrutiny of ingredients for scalp and hair health.

The clean beauty movement has expanded its focus to include synthetic braiding hair, a category previously overlooked by consumers and regulators. Millions of women use synthetic braiding hair annually, often for extended periods, with little awareness of its composition.
Ciara Imani May, founder of Rebundle, has made her company the first non-toxic braiding hair brand to launch on Ulta.com. May stated that this launch signifies a critical validation of scalp care as an integral part of skincare. "Consumers shouldn't have to think differently about the products sitting directly on their scalp than the products they're putting on their face," she said.
May's research revealed that synthetic braiding hair was subject to far less regulation compared to other beauty products. This led her to develop an alternative made from plant-based materials. Rebundle's product aims to reduce exposure to chemicals commonly found in traditional synthetic hair, such as acrylonitrile, latex, and PVC.
The company's objective is to challenge industry norms and provide consumers with a healthier choice that does not compromise on style or durability. The debut on a major online retail platform marks a significant step in reaching a broader audience seeking safer beauty alternatives.
