Contract development and manufacturing organisation Recipharm and biotech firm CanVirex have signed a deal to develop a manufacturing process for an oncolytic virus therapy. The collaboration will support the clinical development of CanVirex's lead candidate, an IL-12 expressing measles virus.

The programme aims to establish a scalable manufacturing process for CanVirex's lead candidate. This oncolytic virus therapy targets advanced solid tumours and uses a measles virus engineered to express IL-12.
Recipharm, a global CDMO, brings expertise in the aseptic processing of large, unfilterable viruses. This positions Recipharm as an end-to-end manufacturing partner for oncolytic viruses.
The partnership is expected to accelerate the progression of CanVirex's virus therapy through clinical trials and towards market, leveraging Recipharm's established capabilities and experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
