Recipharm Expands High Potency Drug Manufacturing to Pilot Scale
Contract development and manufacturing organization Recipharm has expanded its high potency drug manufacturing capabilities at its Leganés site in Spain to GMP pilot scale. This allows for the production of both clinical and small-scale commercial batches.

Contract development and manufacturing organization Recipharm has expanded its high potency offering at its Leganés site in Spain to include GMP pilot scale production. This expansion enables the manufacturing of both clinical and small-scale commercial batches, reducing the need for technology transfers.
The new capability utilizes the same equipment for producing clinical and small-scale commercial batches, accommodating compounds up to OEB 5 (Occupational Exposure Band 5). This approach aims to streamline the manufacturing process and avoid additional technology transfers for clients moving from development to commercialization.
The Leganés facility already possesses approximately 250 tonnes per year of commercial high potency capacity. The addition of pilot-scale services complements the existing large-scale production, catering to clients requiring smaller volumes for early-stage development or niche market launches.
Recipharm is a global contract development and manufacturing organization that provides services to the pharmaceutical industry. The company focuses on developing and manufacturing pharmaceutical products across various therapeutic areas.
