Record 14 Billion-Dollar Rounds in July Pushed Venture Funding Higher
Global venture funding reached $65 billion in July, a 100% increase year-over-year, as the month saw a record number of billion-dollar funding rounds for startups.

Global venture funding continued its strong trajectory in July, totaling $65 billion. This figure represents a 100% increase compared to the same period last year and marks a month with a record number of billion-dollar funding rounds for startups.
July ranked as the third-largest funding month of the year, up 10% from June, following a record-breaking first half of 2026 when startups globally raised $515 billion.
Fourteen startups secured billion-dollar rounds in July, the highest count in a single month. The largest single investment was $10 billion for Blue Origin, the space exploration company founded by Jeff Bezos. Other significant funding rounds included $5 billion for Safe Superintelligence, reportedly from Nvidia, and $3.5 billion for Moonshot AI.
AI-focused companies attracted a substantial portion of the July funding, accounting for $35 billion, or approximately 53%, of global venture capital. U.S.-based companies raised $39 billion of the global total, with roughly half invested in AI-focused ventures.
