Recoveryfix Offers Guide for SmarterMail to Microsoft 365 Migration
Recoveryfix has released a new tutorial detailing the process for migrating SmarterMail email services to Microsoft 365. The guide outlines methods for transferring data and mailboxes.

IT solutions provider Recoveryfix has published a comprehensive tutorial aimed at assisting organizations in migrating their SmarterMail email services to the Microsoft 365 platform. This transition offers benefits such as enhanced scalability, automatic updates, cross-platform accessibility, improved security features, and seamless integration with other Microsoft applications.
The publication details two primary methods for undertaking this migration. The first, termed "Network Upload," involves a multi-step process including configuring the SmarterMail account within Outlook, exporting data into a PST file, and subsequently uploading these files to Microsoft 365 utilizing the AzCopy tool. This approach also facilitates the transfer of calendars and contacts.
The second method leverages the Exchange Admin Center (EAC). This approach is suitable for servers employing the IMAP protocol. The process involves signing into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, creating user accounts, assigning licenses, and initiating the migration process through the EAC's Migration section.
Recoveryfix emphasizes the importance of pre-migration preparations, such as creating a complete backup of SmarterMail data, documenting a list of all user mailboxes, and ensuring IMAP settings are enabled within SmarterMail. A stable internet connection and administrative access to both systems are also highlighted as crucial for a successful transfer.
