Red Magic reports performance gap in under-display camera technology
Red Magic’s product general manager Jiang Chao has released comparison data highlighting differences in under-display camera integration between the Red Magic 12 Pro+ and the iPhone Duo.
Jiang Chao, general manager of Red Magic, has publicly addressed the performance of under-display camera technology, contrasting the company's latest Red Magic 12 Pro+ model with the iPhone Duo. The comparison, supported by internal imaging, suggests that Red Magic’s ninth-generation solution achieves a higher degree of visual masking for the camera component.
According to the company, the development of this display technology has spanned five years of iterative testing. Jiang noted that while the Red Magic 12 Pro+ hides the sensor from view, the iPhone Duo retains a discernible semi-transparent aperture, which he characterized as comparable to the company's own second-generation prototypes.
Beyond camera concealment, the device features an industry-noted 185Hz refresh rate and a 0.96mm bezel width. The company continues to prioritize display hardware optimization as a key differentiator in the high-performance smartphone market.
