Reddit updates homepage structure to include personalized recommendations
Reddit is transitioning its mobile homepage to a dual-feed system, adding a 'For You' section alongside its traditional 'Following' feed.

Reddit has implemented a significant update to its interface, replacing its existing home feed with two distinct navigation tabs. Users can now switch between a 'Following' feed, which contains content from subscribed subreddits, and a new 'For You' feed, which algorithmically suggests content based on user engagement and interests.
The update marks a departure from Reddit's long-standing reliance on static chronological or popularity-based sorting. By integrating machine-learning-driven recommendations directly into the primary navigation, the platform aims to increase user time spent on the app by surfacing content from communities the user has not explicitly joined.
This shift aligns Reddit with broader industry trends in social media, where platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X have increasingly prioritized interest-based feeds over user-curated networks. The change follows previous efforts to restructure discovery, such as the deprecation of the r/all global feed earlier this year.
The transition is currently rolling out to the platform's mobile users, with many accounts seeing the interface shift effective immediately.
